I don't know why it took me years to buy an AC adapter. After years of using fake 12v batteries and poorly stripped wires to test components, I finally pulled the trigger and bought a pyramid. I think low cost played a part. As a shade tree mechanic and "wheel dealer" I always have problems with 12-volt vehicle systems. From lightbulbs to fuel pumps and everything in between. I set it up on a plain table that my stereo sits on, bought a cheap set of multimeter leads with extra alligator clips, and off we went. I cut off the rubber casing on the leads and stuck a 1.5mm bullet directly into the positive and negative outputs. No need to strip the wire to run it through the receiver! So far, so good! hope it lasts
