Review on ๐Ÿ”Œ ParkPower 301ELRV: White Power Inlet with Stainless Steel Trim - Efficient and Reliable 30A Solution by David Hayden

Sturdy, reliable socket

I built my own caravan and bought this socket for onboard power. I used #8 AWG stranded wire for the installation and the terminals on the back of the outlet accepted this 8 gauge wire very well. No problem connecting the 8/3 wire. Although a 30 amp outlet only needs 10 gauge wire to handle a 30 amp load, I increased the wire gauge to compensate for potential voltage drop issues. I believe a 2-1/8" hole saw was sufficient for the installation. I used 1/8" rivets to install the outlet into the fiberglass wall panel and the rubber grommet seals perfectly. Very thick, strong vessel with a good lid. Inside the lid is a rubber gasket that when closed fits snugly against the front of the outlet, protecting it from the elements. My heavy Merinco cord with a right angle plug fits and locks securely into this outlet, making the system easy to use. Those who are not inclined to electrics or mechanics can even connect and use this socket. Once again this is a solid jack when installed. In general -very satisfied-
