Review on Roman Carbide DC1842 Carbide Forstner Bit, 3/8-Inch by David Epps
for Drill Press use only.
Good for use in the drill press with the wood clamped down. This bit is NOT good for use in an electric drill because the center is not much "deeper" than the two cutting tips at the outside edges of the bit. This design does not allow the center to maintain its position which in turn can cause the hole to creep off center during the first quarter inch or so. I bought this thinking it would be nice to upgrade to carbide from HSS, but the performance was not notably better.
