I love this led strip. It's more expensive than many, but the LEDs and wiring are encased in clear plastic, making it suitable for outdoor use. Personally, however, I would protect it from direct sunlight and exposure to rain. I installed mine under a canopy that protects them from direct sunlight. The strip has an adhesive backing and comes with some nice clips that look like they're made by 3M or something. Since I was installing on plaster I needed something better so I used a hot glue gun (another reason to keep the strip out of direct sunlight). : Use gloves as the hot glue is hot!) I used a medium setting to avoid welding the LEDs. Stucco pendants were used to run power cables. There are a number of different settings that you can either use the supplied control panel that plugs directly into the LED strip or via the app. The app was easy to use, didn't ask for too many permissions and just worked. My phone is easy to connect to the LED strip and you can turn it on (choose color), blink or sync to music, among other things. I loved the syncing to the music as the band "dance" to the beat. It was also triggered by voices or other noises. All in all I love this flick, it just works!
