Poor quality control classifies this unit as Do not buy

At first I really wanted to like this portable solar panel. The reviews were and are enthusiastic and the size is just right for the trip. However, poor quality control is the reason why these products get bad reviews regardless of design and utility. Second the problems: 1. The panel came in the mail yesterday and I took the time to test it this morning. We had bright sunshine and clear skies and wanted to test with the Goal Zero Sherpa 100 and the YETI 1400. I also had a Fluke 77.2 DMM ready. The panel has been unpacked and inspected - no damage found, all barrel adapters are present.3. The panel was placed in the sun and the open circuit output voltage was measured on the 5.5mm x 2.1mm jack - the reading was 17.65V4. An 8mm adapter was added and connected to the Sherpa 100 and no input current was shown. An attempt was made to measure and the voltage reading was zero.5. The adapter was removed and it turned out to be an open circuit on the center pin - a bad 8mm adapter.6. When the red LED turned red, I plugged the Sherpa 100 into the USB port in the junction box (to use the Sherpa's USB-C input) and the Sherpa 100 showed 0W input power.7. When the red LED turned red, I plugged my iPhone into the USB port(s) on the junction box and there was no charging on the phone.8. Finally, I used Fluke to measure the voltage on the USB outputs (USB to pigtail) and the voltage was zero. It appears that this device was not tested for functionality before shipping. So the search for a suitable, high-quality portable travel panel as a charging source for my solar generator continues.
