Review on πŸ”ͺ Mastering Precision: Professional Knife Sharpening Whetstone Sharpener by Craig Mcdonald

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great tool, easy to use

I bought a sharpener to better sharpen my kitchen knives that I thought were sharp enough. I did not know it. Advantages: 1. The stone is very convenient to use. Follow the instructions in the downloaded brochure and you're on your way. Don't worry - for me the trick was to focus on the "muscle memory" of the shot so I could constantly sharpen in both directions. Splash water on the stone while working.2. The stone is easy to sharpen. I didn't find the knives that sharp because I'm used to feeling the burr from my electric sharpener. Then I cut the tomato. Wow - much sharper. There was no rough burr. Cons: 1. The rubber holder can slip on the counter when wet.2. The guide scratched the blade of my knife. Next time I'll use my finger under the blade of the knife instead of keeping a constant angle. Next challenge: figure out how to make the entire blade of the knife from tip to bolster with each stroke instead of doing it piece by piece. . More muscle memory.

Pros
  • GET THE SMOOTHEST CUT When it comes to the kitchen, nothing is more frustrating than a knife that doesn't cut properly. Whether you're slicing meat and cheese or dicing vegetables and herbs, you need a knife that's sharp enough so you don't have to worry about slipping or poor performance. Cooking is supposed to be fun, but when the cutlery doesn't work, a relaxing activity becomes a nuisance. Mikarto stone is an excellent and inexpensive solution to dull knives.
