Review on Ultrasonic Dog Deterrent - Dog Dazer II by Vedprakash Trilltight

Worked for me (so far). However, I was hesitant to buy it because of the mixed reviews. However, I can easily see how this can be abused and thus lead to disappointing results. Being a "read the instructions first" type, I read the instructions first before using them (as a deterrent). It's not a Star Trek phaser where you just hold the button down. Press the button for 1-2 seconds (then release). It is advisable to stay close to the dog (1.50 to 4.50 m). The first time I used it on my neighbor's mean dog, I saw her ears twitch, stop barking and behaving aggressively, then turn and walk away. I was 5 feet from her. This went on for a week and then she resumed her behavior. When I held out my hand to Dazer, she backed away but continued to act antisocial. I gave it 1-2 seconds and it ended up with the same result as the first time I used it. UPDATE - 5 weeks later and I haven't had to use it again. I forgot to mention in my original review that I did the process of using it. I slowly raised my hand and pressed the button. Now when I go outside, she rarely barks. But when she does, I slowly raise my hand. She immediately stops barking and retreats to the back door. This trick (raise hand slowly) also works for my wife (who has never used it and wasn't even there when I used it). Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks?
