Review on Soundbar JBL Bar 9.1 black by Dorota Sarwa ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like everything, the price and the quality are both ok.

Room 25m2. I took it for the upcoming PS5, the bar supports HDMI 2.0, DHCP 2.2, 60fps HDR, connected to a SONY TV via HDMI ARC, everything was decided right away. For a long time I figured out how these soundbars are connected if several sources, and so: It connects to the TV to OUT via HDMI ARC, and the console to IN via HDMI, the sound source is switched automatically if TV is used and the volume control is directly from the TV remote control, you need to switch to the console . In my opinion, it copes with its environment task, there is practically no Dolby Atmos content, and if it is only in English, I think this contraption will be able to open up on new generation consoles. The best surround sound so far has been on PS4 in Days Gone, and generally good surround sound is found in SONY AAA exclusives, horror movies like Resident Evil, and games powered by Snow Drop (ubisoft) and Frostbite (EA) game engines. I didn’t want to play games without ambient sound at all)) keep in mind. By the way, when the speakers are not spaced apart, a pretty good frontal panorama is obtained, which is sometimes more pleasantly perceived than the environment. I did a little research on the soundbar market, and I think the JBL 9.1 is the best in terms of price / quality. I compared and listened to the sound with Harman / Kardon Citation, the sound there was more elastic and collected or something, according to my feelings% 10-20 better than here. But there is no Atmos and the price is 100+ (for 5.1)

Pros
  • Everything starts out of the box, simple operation, good appearance, worth the money! Large power reserve. There is an environment, the room began to play!)
Cons
  • It is not very suitable for playing music, a strange balance, the bass somehow does not harmonize with the overall picture. The Harman/Kardon Go+Play Wireless speaker produces a more pleasant and balanced sound, and costs 5 times less. But here the idea is different, the surround sound.
