We are very glad we came across this Victrola stereo. Excellent value for the price. The sound from the internal speakers is good and the tones are deeper than expected. In order to achieve a fuller sound, we connected Boston CR75 speakers to an additional amplifier, as the device did not have enough power for the speakers (it only supports 5 watts). The result is amazing sound! We are very happy with our Victrola! Now we can play our old records that have been stored for years. UPDATE: Although the CD player is brand new, it makes a grinding noise when playing, which is so loud that it can still be heard even with the external speakers slightly turned on. Very disappointing. I hope the sound might stop?
