Review on πŸ”ͺ Clauss Bent Snips with Titanium Bonding by Robert Prix

Not as good as before.

These used to be my favorite pair of scissors. I work in a Level 1 trauma center so quality scissors are a must. The first couples I bought were excellent. The blade was sharp, the handles were VERY comfortable, and they cut everything I could ask for (and more!). However, the last few pairs I've bought have let me down. From the factory, the rivet is no longer strong enough to ensure high cutting speeds. When I opened the box on the last pair I bought I knew there was going to be trouble. They rang just by shaking them in your hand. When attempting to quickly cut clothing, the material gets caught between the two blades as expected, rather than in emergency situations. Unfortunately I will be returning this pair. I was hoping that I got lucky and just got a bad batch, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Let's move on to the next brand! UPDATE: After using a different brand for 6 or 7 months I decided to try my old favorites again but now they are even worse than before. The rivet on the very last one I bought is so loose that the blades are almost completely separated. Apparently there is no QC in this company.

Pros
  • Pliers and scissors
Cons
  • So far, so good
