Local carpet cleaning company used this on my light yellow carpet. Now it looks grey. They said it brightens dark carpets too. They also just sprayed it with a garden sprayer and then used the suction hose/shampoo right away. The instructions say "Pre-spray the carpet with grout, brush or rake and let sit 5-10 minutes before cleaning." The areas where my dogs lay under my table were still clearly visible when they were done before the table was pushed back. They also mentioned that they had to treat the entire room, not just the affected area, as they couldn't blend it.
