Not a pro but wanted to try a fixed length lens instead of the zoom lens that comes with most standard DSLRs. I can't justify an expensive Nikkor lens as I'm just playing around with it. That's why my camera bought this lens. The pictures are great. Compared to the Nikkor lens, the motor noise is a bit louder. So if you plan on using the lens for video, as other reviewers say, this might not be for you. If you have an external microphone instead of the camera's built-in microphone, you can use the lens. The low aperture is great for low-light shots.
