Great for the price!

For a beginner this is an amazing lens! Yes, it makes noise when focusing. But if you can ignore it, it's a powerful thing.

Great lens shots

Not a pro but wanted to try a fixed length lens instead of the zoom lens that comes with most standard DSLRs. I can't justify an expensive Nikkor lens as I'm just playing around with it. That's why my camera bought this lens. The pictures are great. Compared to the Nikkor lens, the motor noise is a bit louder. So if you plan on using the lens for video, as other reviewers say, this might not be for you. If you have an external microphone instead of the camera's built-in microphone, you can use…

The best lens for its price.

Great lens. I like how it looks concise and simple. Included was a hood (a plus) and a soft microfiber pouch for storage. Let's talk about how it works. Manual focus is excellent, very accurate. Autofocus is excellent but a bit noisy. If you're just taking photos, no problem, but for videos you'll need an external microphone. I've uploaded some examples using the Nikon D3500 so it's great for beginner to intermediate users. Overall, I can really recommend this lens 100%. Ideal for portrait and…

Quickly becoming my favorite lens

I bought this lens because of the price and need for a better portrait lens. I was impressed. The more I shoot with it, the clearer its value becomes. It was a worthwhile purchase. I've never heard of this brand but took a chance and was rewarded. I have to agree with other shooters that he can be quite hesitant about autofocus, almost pretending to know himself. In manual mode it's easy to get in place and just as fast. Seems to work better outdoors and brightens up footage. I find it…

Don't believe the ads.

This is my experience with the specimen I received. I am an experienced photographer.1. The autofocus on this lens was very inaccurate on the D780 and D7200. Very often it would not focus at all without turning the camera off and on again. Yes, it's noisy, but you can live with that. Manual focus is of course good.2. Lens flare/ghosting is the worst I've ever seen on a new lens. also with a hood. With the hood off the flashes/ghosts were awful. Off-axis light or backlighting will either create…
