My first purchase of this product was exactly two years ago. I used it to power a tried and true LED lighting system in our makeshift bathroom (we are renovating and the contractor was converting an old laundry room into a makeshift bathroom). I built two lamps: 1. We have a mirror about 2 feet wide and 3 feet high over the sink. I built an inverted square U shape around the mirror using a wall mounted composite lattice edging (as I said this was a makeshift bathroom). For this I used an LED strip cut into 3 segments to fit U. These LEDs are 2835 (60 per meter). I unplugged and attached two 4 foot 1.5 x 3/4 strips of white painted wood to the ceiling in the center of the room about 1 foot apart. To each strip I attached a 4 foot long strip of 2835 LEDs (double density 120 per meter). The LED color chosen for both homemade lights is 5000K (daylight), which is perfect for the bathroom - everything is bright and white. I powered both lights in parallel from one of those Mean Well power drivers. I added a PWM dimmer to the light above the sink because otherwise it would be too bright. The overhead light (two 4ft long LED strips) illuminated the entire bathroom very brightly. All of the light in the bathroom was provided by these two LED lights and the bathroom is very well lit, including in the shower. Additionally, I added a Lutron MS-OPS2H motion sensor, set to 5 minutes, so the two lights turn on immediately when someone enters, stay on as long as someone is in the bathroom (even in the shower), and switch off automatically turn off within 5 minutes free space. Apart from the temporary nature of the installation, this worked perfectly so that this lighting concept has now been tested. I can't tell you how much fun this automated LED lighting was - it's almost perfect. This 12V 60W LED driver from Mean Well will power this entire lighting system for two years without failure. There is no flickering or buzzing. I chose this driver to power all of the LED lighting I will be installing, including cabinets, pantries, kitchen cabinets, built-in dining cabinets (with glass panels) and bookshelves. I will use 2835 LED strips where I need brightness and 3528 LED strips (which are about 1/3 the brightness of 2835) where I want a less bright backlight (like bookshelves). In addition, we have two 4 foot 4 tube electronic fluorescent lights in our garage. I've already had to replace the electronic ballast on one and now the other is completely dead (so most likely dead too), plus the worker has two weak tubes. The ceiling in the garage is 16ft and I'm tired of fixing these things so I'm in the process of upgrading both lights to LED - no more maintenance needed and they're brighter too! These drivers from Mean Well are about the same size as the old ballasts, so they fit in the same compartment. Simply remove the old ballast and fluorescent connectors, install this LED power driver, remove and stick some LED strips onto the reflector and replace the plastic diffuser cover. Remember to connect the LED strips in parallel to avoid voltage drops. I use 5630 LEDs for this because they are twice as bright as 2835s, but they need to be attached to a heatsink (which is a very good metal reflector). Voila! -- Very bright LED light, even better than what you can buy in the store! When I first purchased this item two years ago I did an intense search for what I believed to be the highest quality and most reliable LED power driver in the world. suitable dimensions and appearance, and I then chose these. I've just done another intensive search and still can't find anything similar (at least on Revain). The only minor gripe I have is the attachment tab, which is small and plastic. The maximum screw size you need is #6 and you have to be very careful not to over tighten them because if the plastic breaks it will be difficult to install. This hasn't happened to me (yet), but I'll take due care when installing this driver. I suggest just using a manual screwdriver. My measurements: 12.118V output, constant AND important note: Many buyers insist that products are UL Recognized and carry the "UL" mark (which is primarily intended for the US market); However, there are other organizations that issue safety certifications like CE, ETL, etc. Safety certification is expensive and time-consuming, so many vendors take a shortcut and simply affix a fake UL mark without obtaining certification. Safety Laboratories only issue UL certification for finished end products, but they issue a similar "Recognized Component Mark" (looks reversed like "UR") for components that are intended to be part of a UL-listed product. This power supply is a UL component which is marked with the E307078 certification and I have been able to verify that this certification has been issued to Mean Well Enterprises Co Ltd as a class 2 power supply in quality is assured.
