Review on Fluval A20093 Motor Head Maintenance by Stephanie Ingram

From day one my Fluval 406 was pretty noisy compared to my Eheim Ecco but I could handle it. However, the last time I cleaned the canister, the noise became unbearable. It was a loud banging that I could hear from over 25 feet inside the house, in short, quite annoying. There was no visible damage inside or inside the pump so I went with this kit and it worked for me because the pump now runs with a "muffled" noise level that is more than acceptable. Given the performance of the pump, I couldn't expect it to be quiet, but the current "hum" is tolerable.
