Fluval A20093 Motor Head Maintenance Review

The original ceramic impeller shaft on my 406 filter broke in half. As a result, the impeller made a CONTINUOUS rattling noise during operation. This kit contained all the parts to restore the ideal and silent operation of the filter unit. The whole thing took 5 minutes. I like products that work well, are easy to install, and improve the quality of life not only for me but for my pets (in this case, my fish). Everything is in this kit. Fully recommended.

Only worked for a short time to fix my rattle. Ultimately, time has proven that the design of the 406 filter housing and impeller cover is the culprit in the long run, even if it does get you a brand new impeller cover. From day one my Fluval 406 was pretty noisy compared to my Eheim Ecco but I could handle it. However, the last time I cleaned the canister, the noise became unbearable. My Fluval 06 filter's impeller broke and was in urgent need of replacement.
