Didn't help my noise problem
Only worked for a short time to fix my rattle. Ultimately, time has proven that the design of the 406 filter housing and impeller cover is the culprit in the long run, even if it does get you a brand new impeller cover. A very common complaint on aquarium forums. I've tried EVERYTHING from new piping, rebuilds, lubricating the impeller housing, etc. Too bad because the filter has been working great (and quietly) for 3-4 years, but now nothing helps to muffle the noise, including this maintenance kit which in general is not cheap.
