I bought 4 of these perches. My green-cheeked rider is 4 years old. During the day he does not leave the cage, he is very active and cheerful. Yes he was scared of these bass when I first showed them - they were something new to his environment. It was about a month before he sat down on one. Now he flies to them, often when there is a need to poop. Then he gets a treat - sunflower seeds, which he wouldn't get otherwise. We now catch about half of the poop boxes in a tray lined with paper towels. This works great and maybe we can be 100% successful in our potty training. He doesn't poop in his cage. If you are purchasing multiple pieces to arrange around the home, purchase them all at once as the wood of the product will change over time. And this change frightened the bird too.
