Non-universal remote control

Don't be fooled by the product description. It's not exactly a universal remote. Versatility means you can fully control multiple devices. Here you can control a subset of the buttons from the remote control that came with the device. The learning feature seems a bit silly at first, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes really easy. Essentially, this means pointing two remotes in close proximity at each other, putting that remote in learn mode, pressing a button on the original remote, and matching it with a button on this remote. You have to do this for every button, even for numbers on the keyboard. The problem is that there aren't enough buttons to replace functions on multiple remotes. So you have to choose which function you need from each remote control. The directional arrows and enter buttons can control the routing of the cable box, but cannot be used to navigate the TV settings. Shared buttons such as About, Back, Exit, and now share basic color buttons can only be mapped to one device and not used on all. My AVR remote has buttons to select the desired input, there are no corresponding buttons. There is an enter key, but only one. Which single button do you map this to? Do you understand. This is a replacement remote rather than a generic remote that may be slightly better than the one that came with your device.
