This is really a great tool if you think like a beginner. This is the first time I've done this and everything went great. Below I've posted the steps along with four separate pictures of how I did it. I don't want to disregard the pros, but I just ignored the measurements on the instrument. In fact, if they didn't label this tool, it would still work great for what I was doing. The important part is the setup which took me about ten minutes. After that it took me about twenty minutes to install seventeen handles. That's about one per minute. In fact, you will be amazed. Step 1: SET UP - Using only your hands, position the unit in the desired location and mark the floor on three sides with tape as shown. Before starting work, I tore off three pieces of tape from the roll and stuck them on the forearm. Step 2: Find the middle between the pieces of tape on each side and mark the spot. I used cross tagging (see image). Don't think about it too much. Don't worry about where exactly the screw hole is. Just write it down and move on. Step 3: Align the bottom pilot hole with the mark you just made and tighten the set screw. Here's what you need to know; the rail that comes with the accessory, the flat part with an extra screw that holds the arrow on the edge. You just have to place it somewhere near the bottom of the ruler. It doesn't matter where you place it. Just lay it on the floor and tighten the screws to keep it from moving. The next guide up becomes the guide for the bottom of the hardware, as I show here. (It could be the top of the hardware if you reverse the orientation of the jig, but you get the idea). Note: I took this photo after the fact, so your device doesn't have any tape on it yet. Just ignore it in the picture. Step 4: Loosely install the device onto the bracket. IMPORTANT - the only part of the jig that should be free and movable at this moment is the top large crossbar with an additional ruler. At this point, the two small guides should be firmly fixed. If not, then start over. Loosely attach the bottom of your hardware, then slide the large top rail into place so you can attach the screw to the top of the hardware. Make sure your gear is not locked into the jig. You should be able to move it a little. Then tighten all remaining rail mounting screws. DO NOT REMOVE THE DEVICE YET. Step 5: I then put masking tape on the jig so I could see at a glance if the rails were moving while installing the hardware. Yes the picture does not show the fittings on the ladder but you should have it. I then wrapped a pair of pliers in duct tape and used it to tighten all the mounting screws one last time. After that, I made sure my gear was still loose on the jig. Now - REMOVE THE DEVICE. This step marks the END OF SETUP. You only need to follow the above steps ONCE. Your clamp is now set. All you have to do next is repeat steps 6 and 8 for each pin. The seventh step is optional and I only did it once in the beginning. Step 6: Then, using a *good* center punch (I have the great Neiko 02638A you can get here at Revain) mark each pilot hole to mark the location of the hardware on the case. I refused to drill through the jig. It was just my preference. I didn't feel like I could control the jig and drill well by doing it that way. Step 7: (Optional) You can check your labels if you like (see image). I only did it on my first. Step 8: Using a really good drill bit the same diameter as your screw, drill holes at each mark. Mount your hardware and you're done. Now just repeat steps 6 and 8 for each pin. To save time, I walked around and did all my punches in each location first. Then I have the attachment at this point. I hope this has helped someone out there.
