Works. This is not the most pleasant vice. My Craftsman 6" is a little better (and by no means a premium vise). But it works. The fit and finish isn't very good. I bought it because of the large capacity and because it has two latches. If you can get this by the Keep going, the front of the vise will fall out of the groove each time, and you'll call it all sorts of names and say every word in the book to try and get it back.It won't fall to the ground, but the square end of the bolt will slip off and sticks unless you hold it with one hand and twist it back with the other. To be honest it's a two person job for me. I have to look through the back of the vise to get it lined up properly while I hold the other Guide person (tell them "higher", "lower") to level the sled. Finally, I painted the slider in bold red so I know how far to go with the thing. It works. Three stars.
