First of all, the replacement filter is less than $12! If you're close to a DIYer, you just saved yourself $20-$30 by visiting a local dealer to get it done! My filter is MUCH overdue for a replacement. I usually put in a new one every 15,000, but I was nearly 10,000 overdue. What can I say, it's been a crazy year, COVID and all. My filter was complete crap! I noticed a big difference in performance and acceleration in the first week (especially when running on AC). I can't yet say exactly how this has affected my gas mileage, but I expect it will be significant. The sharp drop in gas mileage over the past few months prompted me to diagnose the problem myself and then realize that I hadn't changed the engine air filter on time.
