I've been thinking about spending that much money on a vacuum cleaner for a few months. In the meantime, I didn't manage to get a good vacuum on the 9x13" California pile rug in my living room. My regular vacuum choked on it, and my small shop vacuum with floor nozzle just didn't have the airflow to clean well. The rest of the house is 1940's hardwood so it's not exactly smooth and there are very thin gaps between some boards where dust collects. A few other smaller, low-pile rugs in the bedrooms. There are also two ' "short-haired" cats. I swept the hard floors with a broom and then wiped them down with a dry cloth. I chose this Miele after realizing that my expansive shag rug wouldn't last long without proper vacuuming. My other option was to sell the carpet and get a regular carpet ok here is my review this vacuum cleaner is compact le Not, the nozzle has a high pile for soft carpet and the highest for soft carpet +. Metal extension handle feels solid and strong, easy to pull out and fold. The day I unpacked I cleaned my whole house. The power head is enough to clean large carpets with a shaggy roller set to maximum power and to clean soft carpets at speed. The carpet label recommends not using a roller brush, but I only used it the first time because it hadn't been cleaned properly for so long. With a switch on the handle you can turn the brush roller on and off. Switching between heights on the Power Head is easy with just a touch of your foot. Adjusting the engine speed is also easy and convenient. The Power Head did a great job cleaning my other two mats. A carpet is made of wool and after cleaning it looks as if it was restored with color saturation and contrast in Photoshop! The airflow and suction power are impressive. Now for hard floors. The parquet winder works very well. I switched the canister to maximum power and went over all the hard floors in my house. The nozzle glides so smoothly. Unlike my mini Shopvac floor nozzle, this vacuum easily picks up the smallest particles of scattered spatula, dust, hair, etc. The rotating movement of the nozzle makes it easy to maneuver around furniture. This vacuum cleaner is very quiet compared to other vacuum cleaners. The canister whispers at maximum power, most of the noise coming from the airflow being drawn into the nozzle. I wouldn't vacuum badly at 2am - it won't wake my tenant upstairs. Still feeling energetic after mopping the hard floors, I put on the upholstery nozzle and cleaned a few things that cats like to sleep on β a bedspread and two chairs. The felt strips on the nozzle easily grab your hair. Adjusting the furniture to the motor speed ensured that the nozzle didn't suck up the fabric but was powerful enough to suck up all the cat hair. I also cleaned some commercial entrance mats in my common room (duplex). What struck me the most was that after cleaning the house, I opened the compartment for the bag and found the bag was full of dust, dirt, discarded carpet fibers, and cat fur. I was surprised to have everything on my floors, which used to look mostly clean. The car is also easy to store. I have a small closet in the hallway and it rolls right in, handle tucked in, strapped to the canister. It's hard for me to express how impressed I am with the cleaning power of this vacuum cleaner. Additionally, cord storage is great, integrated tool storage is good, and the overall feeling of well designed and built is reassuring. After the first cleaning, I tackled the hard floors again. It's so quick to connect, clean and store away. I still don't understand why there are so many models and combinations, some seem to be the same except for the color and price. This soft carpet model seems like a complex solution to me. It comes with a hard floor roller and a soft carpet attachment that can handle both the lowest and highest pile carpets. I haven't dusted it, but I've never vacuumed it. Have always used a cloth or 360 cloth, the dust attachment seems good enough. So if you have complex carpets and hard floors, this will work exceptionally well.
