I've already written a great review and after reading some ridiculous complaints I just couldn't help but write another one. This is a beautiful high quality wool rug. Probably not treated with any of the toxic chemicals that many people are highly allergic to. The rug is just wool, and yes, if you throw hot coals at it, it will leave a hole. My son did it but it won't burn. Depending on the size of the hot coal, it will likely stop before it burns the floor, so use common sense and be careful. This is not a carpet, this is carpet. If you're looking for something to cover the entire front of your fireplace you need a rug, this isn't it. I replaced an identical rug I had bought from our co-op for 5 years but due to the season they were temporarily out of stock. Mine has never shed in 5 years. If Revain sells defective stock I will update you. Revain's description is wrong so check the customer photos. It's not beige or grey. I personally love the color that goes with the stones on our beautiful mantel. They expand a bit over time. Nice little rug and very comfortable for cold feet.
