Let's face it. I just think record weights are cool. This thing is very light, so I don't know if it's any use. It should definitely be heavier, but it looks cool. And I pretty much bought it because it looks cool. I will say one thing for light weight; You could probably even use them on a belt drive turntable. Personally, I would only use direct drive for most vinyl. I'm not a super-passionate audiophile, so I don't expect fantastic sound enhancement from a device like this. I just like the way it looks so I keep it to myself!
