This lock will not stop a thief, the best you can hope for is that it will make an adventurous thief decide to walk past it. The lock is cheap but easy to install and lockable. Personally I will use it on a motorcycle trunk, but I will also have a powerful lock with an alarm on the motorcycle. Personally, I wouldn't lock anything that I thought might be stolen with this lock. The whole lock is plastic and I'm willing to bet I could break it if I wanted to. I'm giving it 2 stars because I think anyone who buys this lock will know it's a deterrent and not a security feature. Mine also came without a back clip which is a big bummer and another reason for the 2 stars.
