Review on Topeak MTX Trunk Dry Bag - Black Waterproof Storage Bag (15x9.4x10.2-Inch) by Brian Schultz

I can't say anything about the durability of this item because I ONLY received it and tried it out - easy purchase/procurement. It attached very easily to my Topeak Explorer bike rack (with spring), no problem, and what interested me the most was the quick release. Thread a Velcro cable tie through the buckle and attach to the front of the rack for added security (see photo). There's no way to attach a flashlight to the pocket, which is annoying(!), but I was also able to attach my Nite Ize flashlight to the clip, and it doesn't rotate if you attach it to a rectangular piece, either on a triangular one (see photo). I could easily fit two fairly large bottles of shampoo/conditioner, two standard size bottles of wine, my large U-lock, and a few other small items in my bag. The bag was quite heavy with all of this inside but didn't feel that heavy when riding and everything stayed in place and felt securely attached. Pin the sides down. They could have addressed this by making the clips that attach to the bag more flexible, with some slack in the strap, but since they didn't, it was a little difficult to close the clips when the bag was full . Leaving the sides up isn't a problem though, as more items can then fit in the bag, and it also has a top zip closure to keep extra items safe. The side pockets are very narrow and difficult to put hands through without scratching them. I was able to fit a pair of gloves, a multi-tool, a few small accessories, but that's about it. Hopefully the material will soften with use. Overall I like it so far - just hoping it stands the test of time - because the plastic bottom didn't feel 100% connected to the ground all the way around. Just take a look. If I could make changes to the design, I'd say they should use a more flexible, forgiving material for the upper, add shorter top grab bars in addition to a longer shoulder strap, add a basic rear bike light loop, and make those more side pockets.
