Bought a 9000 lb unit (RVR-9) to move a 5000 lb trailer (Flagstaff 22FBS). It could move a trailer on level ground, but it couldn't push a trailer onto 1-inch leveling blocks, which are about as small as it gets. Even on perfectly smooth tarmac, he just couldn't gain traction. Even more worrying. However, the buttons on the remote are weak and stick easily - meaning you release them and the RVR keeps moving. I literally nearly pushed the trailer off a cliff because it kept moving and not stopping. There's no emergency stop button, so there's no way to stop it if the forward or reverse buttons get stuck. The only thing that saved us was my wife running to the RVR to hit the power button. This isn't a flawed remote, it's just a terrible design decision -- foil buttons are notorious for sticking and breaking. However, the lack of a kill switch is unacceptable. It's hard to believe it's even legal. button and the RVR will start moving, and a delay when you release it - the RVR will move a few more inches. Presumably this is to prevent the trailer from jerking and wobbling, which makes sense. Unfortunately, it also makes accurate positioning, such as B. hitting a ball under a receiver, almost impossible. I really wanted to love this little guy - we even gave him a name (WALL-E). It's really very frustrating to bring him back because he's so cute. If I could suggest to the folks at Trailer Valet, they *almost* have a great product. Here are a few things that can really help: (1) Solve the clutch problem reported by many customers. Maybe super hard rubber isn't the right tread material because it's not able to dig into the surface to get traction. A slightly more pliable tread material would likely fix this. (2) Transmission required. A £9,000 product should have no problem moving a £5,000 trailer. The three-speed transmission provides fast, unencumbered travel over distances (e.g. 50+ feet) in high gear, coarse positioning in middle gear and precise movement in low gear. . It also helps with small height differences, e.g. B. when pushing into leveling blocks, or when overcoming small bumps in the terrain, z. B. when driving over a road edge. (3) An emergency stop button is essential. And given the price, it should have a *very* high-quality remote with reliable buttons.
