Review on ๐Ÿš— Dorman 425-156 Steering Shaft for Chevrolet, Pontiac, and Saturn Models by Chris Laznovsky

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The intermediate shaft for the 2007 Cherolet Malibu with OEM electronics puts an end to the old bulky design.

Great value for a remanufactured OEM part to properly match the 2007 Chevrolet Malibu Lt 2.2L. This vehicle has electronic power steering. Listed as unsuitable by Revain (already contacted / pending update). If you hear a typical GM sound when turning the steering wheel - the sound is a new and updated Dorman part. A noise may be heard when turning the steering wheel. Of course, note that many other suspension/link parts can make similar noises, so make sure it's coming from the shaft before replacing it. This is a very typical, well documented problem on this car. GM remembered other years and this year's 700 cars, but of course when we called they said it wasn't that VIN. Through research I found that Dorman made all genuine parts for the cars listed above and many more. It's fairly easy to install with an 11mm socket, ratchet and torque wrench. The standard disclaimer applies if you do not have the skills to have it done by a professional. It is your responsibility to check the torque specifications for the vehicle you are working on. with him and should be tightened.
