Review on Norpro Grip EZ 12X16 Cutting Board by Lorenzo Moulton

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I love this cutting board! (Too bad, the handles in the corners can be easily released!)

I really like this chopping board. This is a large size making it easy to cut medium to large items. It's also a comfortable thickness - thin enough to be a little light, but thick enough to feel solid and not flimsy in any way. I don't find it dulls my good kitchen knives and I use them every day. My only complaint is that the corners, which have small pieces of rubber, vinyl, silicone, or similar material attached, are poorly designed. . The corners of material, which are designed to keep the board from sliding on the countertop, come loose easily and will begin to loosen after a few uses and washes (although they can be reattached, but not quite 'like new'), even if it is done by hand. If one were to lose one of these small corner pieces, not only could the board slide, but it could also wobble due to the change in thickness of the corner, potentially making continued use of the piece dangerous. Also, when reattached, dirt particles can get caught under the corners and make the item less hygienic. This production deficit should simply be corrected by the manufacturer if interested. I would not advise buying the current version of the product until the corners are better, stronger and more reliably attached to the cutting board. Too bad I don't recommend this product due to this simple design oversight.
