Review on 🎨 Vibrant Graphitint Pencils by Derwent - 24 Count Metal Tin (0700803) by Candice Lopez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Limited palette for drawing

Derwent is usually the best but lacks Graphitint pencils. When water is added, they quickly become cloudy at first, without water they become dark and waxy. The palette claims 24 individual colors, but there are actually only about 10. It lacks the yellow base, orange, and variations in blue and brown crayons. If you use these pencils for abstract or complex compositions, they quickly become cloudy and darken with water. A good workaround is to use very light graphite or easily water soluble plain graphite HB, very lightly add cadmium yellow, raw umber, naples yellow, cadmium orange, cadmium blue, cadmium red or other colors of water soluble pencils like Ink Strained. Also very discouraging are the names of these various Graphitint pencils. You should use the artists' traditional color names. This is a great idea but not designed very well, the graphite should be much lighter and there should be more colors. A good video showing how to succeed with these pens is also needed.
