Review on Thule Outway Platform 2 Bike Black by Mike Lunde

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Instructions are very confusing

Terrible instructions both in the written instructions that came with the bike rack and on the You Tube they recommended. Drawings and cool videos are no substitute for helpful instructions. It took me a rubber mallet and a lot of patience to attach the disassembled levers. There are locks on this bike rack for reasons they don't explain. You can lock adjustments you can make to the rack to fit your car after a 2 hour installation process, but I can't be sure as one of the locks stays locked, one doesn't lock at all and the other locks but I did can. I don't understand that he's really banned. Nothing is clear in the instructions. They have a 'One Adjustment' label which they only show on a pathetic blueprint that says 'First Time Install' but you have to do this every time you attach the rack to your car. A Subaru hatchback can transport 2 or 3 motorcycles, which is why it gets 2 stars. It works but you need a lot of patience every time you use this carrier and you choose all the part options for your car type and model yourself. I estimate it takes two people about 10 minutes to attach the trunk if you have a tailgate spoiler, maybe a few minutes faster if there is no spoiler. Once you know how it fits your car model, it will carry your bikes safely. I would return based on the fact that the price of the Thule name is 100% not worth it, but having spent the morning and afternoon decoding their encrypted instructions I'm too lazy to do it now to return to Kolya. ;-)
