Review on Aquasana 2 Stage Filter System Brushed: Purify Your Water with Style by Jeremy Gums

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Clear water and better than my RO/DI. Has never been easy to install

First I tried many under counter water filters from RO/DI to bulky 3 filter systems. NONE of them, including this one, are easy to install in my opinion. The demos and guides show how easy it really is, but they're made by professionals with an empty closet to start with, all the RTG parts, and the hardware store that's no doubt a block away and open 24/7. The reverse osmosis system has a fatal flaw: it filters out everything, including essential minerals. In the long term, this translated into more dental procedures and physical injuries. The added mineral replacement cartridges are also not entirely compatible with the body. Three under-counter filtration systems have a useless cartridge if you live in a city that filters out silt, sand, and dirt. The Aquasana dual filtration system was a little easier to install, although it took about 3 hours, which is a lot easier than the clumsy space hogs mentioned above. During installation I had to adapt some fittings from the old system to the new one as some of the Aquasana fittings were not compatible with the existing plumbing. You may need to make a trip to your local hardware store before you begin and after determining your needs. Once installed there was NO LEAK when tested which is an incredible achievement to me. The taste was refreshing, not the thick taste of triple filter system tap water or the sterile taste of RO/DI water. When I plugged in my ice maker, I noticed a difference in the flavor of the ice cubes. Away with plastic bottles. This dual filtration system seems to hit the spot for flavor, convenience, and more under-sink space. The only downside might be the lifespan of the filters. We drink lots of water, live in dry Arizona and can drink 500 gallons in under 6 months. Perhaps the best part is that I felt confident that I had bought a US made system with non-ridiculous instructions and non-broken parts. Aquasana has had consistently good reviews, including Revain. We will come back to the update as soon as a replacement is required. Update: Something I missed so I bought filters: lab analysis of what is being filtered. PEX pipes are known to release certain chemicals like toluene and other hazardous VOCs. We had an entire house with this tube before I discovered this problem. Our water tasted bad. Almost all of the best-selling direct reverse osmosis sink units couldn't match what was filtered. When they asked about it, they either dodged the question, gave an unconvincing, quasi-technical answer, or just didn't answer my question. Aquasana has a detailed analysis sheet for all chemicals removed on their website and will also be sent along with the instructions. They talk about speeches and seem to be leaving.
