Doesn't charge, POS

I was very happy to install this product on my new granite kitchen island, it's my outlet and my charging station but it doesn't really charge phones as they say . The wireless charging point above doesn't charge our phones even without a case, it should work without a case, they'll probably say well it doesn't work if you have a case on your phone. Well it's not real. And yet it doesn't work without a cover. Very disappointed and now my return window is closed because I ordered it way too long before my countertops were installed!
