I was very happy to install this product on my new granite kitchen island, it's my outlet and my charging station but it doesn't really charge phones as they say . The wireless charging point above doesn't charge our phones even without a case, it should work without a case, they'll probably say well it doesn't work if you have a case on your phone. The cord in the one we received had a slight kink, probably because it was rolled up for shipping, and when we tried to slide the tower back into its closed position, it got tangled up in the cord every time. Much more than I thought. Not sure why I thought it was smaller, but it's basically a standard pop-up power bank with a phone charging dock. The top plate is also made of plastic. The construction is fine, although you have to make sure the cord is slack for it to open properly.
