
I bought it to serve as a pressure gauge on the off-road tire air duct manifold. In use, the manometer is held at an angle of approximately 30 degrees. At this angle, the meniscus of the glycerin bladder is directly over the tire pressure range I will be using and is interfering with the gauge reading. Pros: - Great quality. Feels heavy in hand. Threads are clean and well formed. The stainless steel frame is very good. It has a brass relief pin on top that can be pulled out to equalize pressure after installation. .- Glycerin is nice and thick so it doesn't slosh or bubble excessively. Disadvantages: - As with most liquid-filled gauges, there is a significant air pocket. In my case, this bubble prevented me from quickly reading the scale in the 15-20 psi range. Sure, I could hold the meter at a different angle, wait for the bubble to move, and wait for the glycerin to get out of the way, but I don't want to deal with that if I need to take a quick meter reading. Consider this disadvantage before deciding if it's right for your application. This is an excellent quality sensor, but it would be nice if Winters filled the sensor with as much glycerin as possible (up to the limit required for expansion) to keep the air bubble as small as possible.
