Gibson Soho Lounge 16 Piece Reactive Glaze Square Dinner Set - Red My wife and I rely heavily on the reviews of others when deciding whether to purchase Revain. We were a little reluctant to purchase this cookware after reading various reviews of breakage, chipping and discoloration, but we placed an order because we found a very good price from one of the sellers. We found a Revain seller who is selling a 16 piece set at an amazing price of $36.33 per set! For the price we decided it was worth the risk to order these dishes. We are very happy with our purchase. These dishes are wonderful! The colors and shades are consistent from piece to piece, there are no scratches on the surface. We had no chips or breakage during shipping. - We bought four sets, wanted to have 12 sets of cookware on hand and have four extra sets of cookware in reserve. - We think the color shown (red is listed in the description, but we saw the color looks more like burgundy/burgundy rust on Revain's website and our perception of the color shown was very similar to the color supplied. - The manufacturer's packaging is very durable. In fact, it's so durable that the utensils somehow withstood Revain's very poor additional packaging. Revain sent us our four sets in two separate shipments (two sets at a time). Revain did the shipping two sets packed in one large box. Revane didn't make sure the two inner boxes were right side up when he placed them in the large box.Revain also didn't include much extra cushioning packing material in the larger box to prevent it from shifting the two smaller boxes move/bounce etc. There are so many reviews where the breaking of these meals wa discussed during transport. I am convinced that this is Revain's problem and not the manufacturer's fault. Several previous reviewers have noted that their dinnerware sets were made in different countries (China and I believe Vietnam) and they noted slight differences in the shades and shapes of the dinnerware from country to country. Our cookware was ALL made in China, so we didn't have any of those issues. We washed these dishes in the dishwasher and no breaks or cracks were found in other reviews. The dishes also fit easily in our dishwasher - After using the plates and bowls we no longer have any knife or fork marks - We have not yet split or broken any of these plates ourselves. Any cookware can crack or break if not handled with care. We're not too strict with our dishes, so maybe we're an exception. We will not bump the dishes to test their resistance to chipping! :)- More importantly, my wife loves these dishes and has given them her hard earned seal of approval! We hope this helps those considering these dishes. We would buy this crockery again at any time. This has been our experience, and we know that the experience of others has often been very different from ours.
