Review on 💗 Mio Slice Heart-Rate-Monitors: Black, Large - Advanced Fitness Tracking at its Best! by Jesse Hernandez

I really liked this device, so much I bought a second one after the first one broke but I can it not again. I disagree with some of the bad reviews and I think some people are too picky about their personal preferences. There were definitely some technical issues with the mobile app early on, but they were fixed a while ago and unfortunately, some of those bad reviews are still rated so highly. The app and the mobile sync are fine, I actually think the presentation of the app is pretty cool. My issue is related to durability which appears to be related to the design of the strap itself. What I liked the most was the PAI concept and the ANT+ compatibility. I want to have a number that I need to maintain over time based on your actual heart rate. That's fitness gamification to keep that number at 100. ANT+ was key for me to use with my Peloton. So the device was great until they each failed for 18 months. The first I lasted 17 months before it seemed to short out and died one of the few times holding it in the shower (it's supposed to be waterproof). The second only lasted 13 months before the band just clicked the button. It wasn't even tightened, it just fell off when I stretched. For those who think I've overtightened it, I assure you I haven't. I now suspect that the reason for the first short was because water had gotten into the underside of the button where the strip was probably no longer making a good seal. If there hadn't been a short, it would probably have torn a strip soon enough. I'm just really upset that the device doesn't last long. Now I need to find something else that works with ANT+ and hopefully has a similar concept to PAI.
