AQUACREST FXHTC is the perfect replacement for my much more expensive GE FXHTC carbon filter. The filter comes with high quality silicone gaskets at the top and bottom. Our system housing is the GE GXWH40L High Performance Whole House Filtration System. After carefully tightening the housing with the appropriate wrench, no leaks were found. Some suggestions based on our experience: 1) It is not necessary to replace the filter every 3 months. Replace when 30,000 gallons used. (Every time I change a filter, I attach a post-it note to the filter housing with the date and water meter reading.) 2) Be careful not to lose the o-ring on the top of the housing. When reinstalling, make sure the O-ring is intact and perfectly aligned. Replace if damaged.
