Review on Dash Multi Mini Waffle Maker: Four Mini Waffles for Quick & Easy Family Breakfasts - Non-stick Surfaces, Easy to Clean - Graphite by Broderick Shetler

Made a batch of waffles and 10 mini waffles today. I used Trader Joe's Ube Mochi waffle mix. Waffles surprisingly even browned (see photo)! I plugged it in and waited a full 10 minutes to preheat, although the green light came on after about 5 minutes. I wanted to make sure it was hot enough. I added 3 tablespoons of waffle batter. Close the lid and let it rest for 4-5 minutes. I cooked the first 4 waffles in 4 minutes and then placed them on a wire rack for just 1 minute before serving to let off steam (this helps to crisp up the waffles). After 4 minutes the waffles were firm but not crispy. After removing the waffles, I closed the lid (empty), allowed it to reheat, and opened the lid after the light turned green again before adding more batter. The next 4 waffles I cooked 5 minutes then chilled 1 minute resulting in the crispy crust I was looking for. I did NOT oil the waffle iron. It was not necessary. I even boiled an egg mixed with cheese and it didn't stick. To clean I just wipe it down with a damp paper towel while it's still hot to wipe away any crumbs. Storage: Pictures show and other people talk about the latch which helps with storing upright but is a nuisance when cooking when it snaps into place. during cooking when it shouldn't be. Well mine did NOT come with a latch which is a plus and a minus. Luckily I don't have to deal with a latch that locks every time I close the lid while cooking, but now I haven't had a way to store it upright when the lid pops open. So I had to make the perfect sized box with an open end to fit over the handle. This allowed me to store it upright. After my first experience today I rate it 5 stars. I will change my rating if the waffle maker stops working over time.
