I bought this grater because my roommate has it and he loves the quality. One of the biggest pluses for me is that the micro glider is present on the grater. With this grater, you don't need to buy an extra micro glider! Also, these blades are *incredibly* sharp and have been for over a year, just like my roommate's. When I got mine, the blades were so sharp I didn't even have to strain to grate whatever I was working with. That, and it has withstood both heavy use and regular cleaning in the dishwasher. I use it to wrap hard cheeses, soft cheeses, baked chocolate, and veggies, and the micro-glider is incredibly useful for extracting the zest from citrus fruits without leaving large chunks of zest in the bowl. I've made lime frosting with this before and the frosting is essentially liquid frosting with lime zest in it. Still, the zest on this four-sided grater grates the zest so finely, you can't even tell the lime zest's texture is perfect! In addition, the vertical lines on the grater reduce friction, making it much easier to grate stickier foods like soft cheeses, and the handle is very strong and won't leak or wobble. This grater is a little more expensive than other similar graters, but the durability and the micro-glider (which costs more anyway if you're going to buy it anyway) more than make up for it, and this grater is totally worth it. It's an essential grater that will serve you forever and I'm so glad I have it now when my roommate moves out and takes his!
