This is a good USB 3.0 hub. The cord is thick, everything is made qualitatively. It might be a little large to be considered portable, but I use it on my desk with my Macbook Pro, so the size doesn't bother me. Works well even when a USB 3.0 portable external hard drive is connected. A wired keyboard and wireless mouse are permanently attached to it. The only annoying thing is when I plug the wireless mouse receiver straight into the hub and then plug in the hard drive, the mouse gets sporadic and jittery. I had to use a small USB extension cable to move the wireless receiver away from the hub. I understand this can be a common problem with USB 3.0 and some wireless devices due to interference. I'm not sure why the external hard drive is causing the problem.
