I felt compelled to write a review as there are several bad reviews on this product. Full disclosure, I've been in IT for 25 years so I'm generally good with technology. I'm basing my "easy setup" on being able to walk my mother-in-law through the setup over the phone. This product is incredibly easy to set up and get started as long as you have a WPS-enabled router. You simply press the WPS button on the router and then the button on the N300. Do this in the same room to ensure a strong signal. Once you get the green light for the N300, you can go ahead and plug it in and move it where you want it. In terms of range extension options, my AP is on the second floor of our 3 story house (3200). square feet). The extender is on the ground floor with hopes of improving the wifi for the tv and family room. I ran a speed test from my laptop. Before the N300, the speed was 50 Mbit/s/10 Mbit/s (up/down). With the N300, the laptop reached 100Mbps/24Mbps. A good solution for the price and significantly cheaper than mesh network systems. I will be ordering a second N300 for the master bedroom. No need for speed, but the geek in me can't do without a faster connection for the low cost of these extensions.
