Review on πŸ”¬ CO Z Ultrasonic Instrument for Laboratories and Scientific Commercial Applications by Tom Goodlow

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The build quality of this Ultrasonic Cleaner was better than I expected with what appeared to be quality hardware, fine threaded mounting screws holding it together rather than self tapping screws etc all appears to be stainless steel. HOWEVER, the device must have a 200W heater and 180W ultrasonic power. Not even close. I measured the heater alone at 80-100 watts (probably a PTC heater) and the ultrasonic usage was around 100 watts. This is the input power and nothing is 100% efficient (except a resistive heater). Therefore, it is likely that the ultrasonic power will approach 80 watts after losses in the driver circuitry. Ultrasonic transducers heat water/solution much faster than a "heating element". You would heat it up by sticking a 100 watt lightbulb under the pot. Yes, it's loud, but it doesn't surprise me for a device like this, and since I plan on putting it in my garage, it's not a deal breaker. Probably one of the loudest parts is that the liner between the drain valve and the body of the unit rattles a lot.
