I had a pair of the previous version of these headphones for 3 years which eventually wore out to the point where the right side stopped playing no matter how much I fiddled with it wire . They had more buttons, a separate power button, and track skip. Pause was easy to find to quickly stop my music. Of course, I expect to adapt to the changes, but I don't like the smooth feel of three buttons or the fact that I can't skip tracks as quickly as I can hold them down for 3 seconds to only skip once. Longer battery life is great, my old pair lasted a workday and then some, but I'm listening to other things almost all the time. I don't like the base, it's too loud and makes listening to music painful. If you turn it down, other notes are barely audible, so it's not cool. I don't think it's regulated either, but I find the occasional painful hum better than loud machine noise at work. I listen to a lot of audio books and punk rock, so I avoid easy tracks. They're cheap and if they last half as long as the first pair I'll justify my money.
