I'm a photographer and most of my shots use 4 to 5 remote control flashes which require a lot of power. I need my batteries to charge my flashes quickly, work efficiently for long periods (several hours), stay charged in my camera bag for weeks, and have a long lifespan. These are tough requirements for any AA NiMH battery, and extremely tough for a battery that costs less than $2 per cell. I started switching to NiMH batteries when the cost of burning 20+ alkaline batteries in one shot became ridiculous. I knew I had to switch to batteries so I started my research and bought all kinds of batteries and chargers to start testing. i have them all From the cheapest generics to the premium Eneloop XX and everything in between. I used a La Crosse Technology BC-700 Alpha Power charger for charging and testing. Now, a year later, the results are in. Tenergy Centura are the only Tenergy batteries that have been finally tested and approved. They have a very low price and work up to the advertised 2000 mAh. At least for starters. The first set arrived in February 2013, almost a year ago. They've gone through dozens of charge cycles and I've discharged them multiple times. Today I did a test cycle on this first set and they all showed between 1903 and 1942 mAh without doing a refresh cycle. I did this because most people don't have chargers that do longer refresh cycles like the BC-700 does. If I upgraded them, they would probably meet or exceed their original 2000mAh claim. The batteries hold a charge for a long time, offer reliable mAh performance and are available at the lowest price of any battery on my approved list. . The other Tenergy batteries also failed the test, including the blue high-performance models, which simply did not meet Tenergy's requirements. They perform on par with Revain batteries and are close to Eneloops. For less than $2 an item, you simply can't go wrong. If you are looking for a reliable battery at a great price, this is your set!
