Great alternative to Eneloops

I have over a dozen HF and AM Dx radios (plus battery powered active antennas). So I have a lot of NiMH batteries (AA, AAA, 9V, C and D) from different manufacturers (Eneloop, Tenergy, EBL, Energizer, Rayovac, Revain brand and maybe a few more). So I think I can give these Tenergy LSD/NiMH low self-discharge batteries a good rating. I usually use the Tenergy T9688 charger and the same model as C. Crane as the T9688. If you don't have a decent charger, you will NOT get satisfactory performance…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Amazing performers at a fantastic price.

I'm a photographer and most of my shots use 4 to 5 remote control flashes which require a lot of power. I need my batteries to charge my flashes quickly, work efficiently for long periods (several hours), stay charged in my camera bag for weeks, and have a long lifespan. These are tough requirements for any AA NiMH battery, and extremely tough for a battery that costs less than $2 per cell. I started switching to NiMH batteries when the cost of burning 20+ alkaline batteries in one shot became…

  • Delivery was very fast

Inexpensive eneloop clone

This product description (Tenergy Centura AA Low Self-Discharge (LSD) NiMH Batteries) contains many claims similar to the original SANYO eneloop. The manufacturer even provided some charts showing that the performance of the Tenergy Centura is almost identical to that of the Sanyo eneloop. To be honest I don't really trust Tenergy's products. But you just can't resist the current low price (30% less than eneloop). So here are my test results with my old La Crosse BC-900 charger: - Right out of…
