I've always used Arches Cold Press watercolor blocks, but I need a journal to help me keep my paintings organized and in one place. Being used to high quality 100% cotton watercolor paper, I was hesitant to buy any brand other than the ones I've always used, but I really wanted a magazine so I decided to give Etcher a try as it's 100% cotton exists and has great properties. Reviews. I'm so glad I did! The quality of this paper is AMAZING. She can compete with Arches! This paper needs a lot of water and can take a beating! There is no pilling even if I rub it over it and no matter how many washes I use. This is excellent quality paper for an amazing magazine! I paint on the front and back of each page, the paper doesn't warp or warp, it's really AMAZING! Another great thing about this magazine is that the cover is made of white cotton canvas that you paint and/or decorate as you wish can like. As you can see from the photos I posted, I used the inside cover of this magazine as a reference for my watercolors because, as you probably already know, watercolors look and react differently depending on the brand and paper used. Since the inside cover is made of the same watercolor paper as the magazine, having a pattern on the inside cover is very helpful.
