Review on High-Quality King 6000 Grit Whetstone S 1 for Optimal Sharpening by Kevin Singleton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice piece of stone Best in hand tools

This was purchased to replace a similar 30 year old stone which had dried and cracked before falling off the base and falling apart. The pieces will come in handy to complement this new stone. I had no question about buying a replacement. These are excellent stones that leave incredibly sharp polished edges. I have many shaped stones from India and Arkansas that are good for sharpening the form and form knives I sharpen, but for chisels and hand plane blades I use this stone for a terribly sharp edge. Start with a coarser stone to remove the nicks in the blade and finish with that. I have not seen a better stone in 35 years of making architectural wood carvings. I know there are finer grits, but this stone makes a good chisel sharp as a razor.
