Two issues have been fixed.
I had two problems with mine. I couldn't pour quickly because with the lid closed no air could get into the jug other than through the spout. I solved this problem by drilling a small hole in the top of the lid at the opposite end of the spout. Other reviewers have mentioned that the lid is difficult to remove or rotate. I used a chisel to remove the raised strips on the side of the lid and now there is no problem. Both problems solved, I'm happy with the pitcher now but I took off a star for fixing it.
